|iMap Treasure Valley|
iMap is committed to helping children around the world, and especially in the Treasure Valley. We are part of a ministry that is feeding 20,000 kids per day worldwide and now we want to help kids in the Treasure Valley.
I know there are a myriad of feeding programs that are government sponsored, but they all have special food that the kids at school recognize that stigmatizes any child who takes that food. The result is most kids that can't afford the lunch ticket don't eat and just stay in the classroom, or go straight out to the playground.
THIS ISN'T RIGHT!!!
These are kids that are homeless, indigent, or from migrant families, and have a need. iMap wants to stand in the gap and help these kids by anonymously paying for their lunches.
With donations received, as well as funds from iMap, we will pay for these kids to have a regular lunch and help them avoid the stigma they have been living with. All of this will be done through the school counsellors and the child will not know where the money has come from.
Here are some testimonies from school counselors and principals:
"The school lunch program is designed to help those students who have little or no lunch. Many of the students who benefit from the program are students whose families have fallen on hard times and the students don't qualify for free and reduced lunch. Later in the month one to two weeks before payday these students will have a sandwich ( if they have one) with old bread that is falling apart with nothing else. Or they may have some candy in their lunch bags for lunch.
Many of these students you can also tell by their lunch or lack thereof that assistance is needed.
With donations, I have a lunch program that we can pay for lunch for these students or provide them with milk if they have a sandwich and nothing else."

We are located in a higher socio-economic area, so we don't have as large a need as some schools in the West Ada School District. However, we do have $60/month that goes unpaid on school lunches that we work to get covered through donations each year. If you are able to provide these funds to these kids in need through our counselor, Kerry Elder, it would be greatly appreciated."
